How are we managing COVID-19 at Scots? (Updated 18th May 2020)

By March 19, 2020news

While our building is closed, our hearts are still open. We continue to meet at 10:30 am but the service will be online. We would love you to join us. Join online here

Groups of 5 are now permitted in homes. Why not take this opportunity to invite over a friend from church or someone who normally doesn’t go to church and experience online church together? Please remember to observe the 1.5m rule and the 4 sqm rule.

All Hub Groups continue to meet online.

While the federal government has signalled that groups of 10, 20 and 100 will be permitted in the coming weeks these gatherings will need to observe physical distancing.  Our leadership will assess the practicalities of resuming physical meetings on a case by case basis and will assess the level of comfort that individuals feel about various kinds of meetings resuming physically. For example, when the government allows groups of 10 to meet, this will not mean Hub Groups automatically recommence meeting physically.

We are watching out for best practices in the corporates, not-for-profits, and other churches. Our denomination is in regular context with information from detailed government briefings. Please ask if you have any questions – email the office or ask a member of staff or one of our elders.  Our staff and elders are conferring regularly on appropriate precautions and are beginning to plan the journey out of isolation.

While these disruptions are not what we planned, we know it is exactly what our good and sovereign God has planned for us. This time of uncertainty and isolation is a God-given opportunity for his church to grow in love and unity, deepening our community together, and our devotion to Jesus. Let’s remain relationally connected even though we are physically disconnected! God has richly provided for us by giving us his Word and the privilege of Prayer  This season could be a wonderful opportunity to deepen your personal Bible Reading and Prayer.

We are not duplicating the general public advisories from the NSW Health Department about cough etiquette, etc.

Thanks for your grace, patience and diligence in this unprecedented season.
