Bringing Grace and Understanding to our Marriages

About the Seminar

In this seminar, Jenny Brown will outline the predictable patterns in a marriage that arise during times of stress. She will describe how to recognise anxious relating and make adjustments for the benefit of the marriage and family. Her presentation will include reflections on the adjustments required in marriage at key stages of the life cycle and some reflections on how our experience in our families of origin can shape our marriages.

Participants will have the chance to reflect on the input Jenny presents and develop questions for Q & A time that bring out more clarity about how to recognise and adjust less helpful relating patterns. Couples will have some time to develop a follow-up action plan as a response to the ideas presented. The day will be grounded in a Christian view of servant heartedness and grace in our marriages.

Couples can choose to sign up for the morning session or the afternoon session. Both sessions overlap at lunchtime, where a tasty meal will be provided for all. We want to encourage couples with children to organise a babysitter so they can make the most of the half-day event together. If you’d like your child/ren to be looked after by a qualified volunteer from Scots, please let us know on the registration form (available at morning session only). Young infants are welcome in the sessions.
